Pre-defense by Polina on "Georgian Family Law vs Family traditions".
If was one of the most rich pre-defenses we had at Nomadsky so far 😄 - as the discussion was also joined by two young 🌱 Georgian ladies - Dea's younger sister and her female friend, sharing their practical experiences on family traditions in Georgia, that they personally experience in their families, comparing family rulings, parent-grown children relations regarding marriage in Georgian modern cities, like Tbilisi, where they are living, to the very different traditions 😺 of rural families, particularly, in mountainous Ajara, with strong patriarchal households.
Dea added a lot of details in current Georgian legislation regarding protection of battered women, kids rights after parent's divorce and practices of police 🚓 behaviour when called on alert 👍.
As an academic supervisor of Polina's Final Course Work, I cant express more appreciation, as I would never know those important details, that had deepened Polina's work tremendously, providing "reality check" ✅.
Nikita, who joined the pre-defense bit later, offered his help in shaping up and upgrading Polina's power-point presentation, in terms of adding colorful images and graphs with data, as he had done ✅ in gis own defense on the course of Actor-Publics in previous semester.
So, even for Polina's presentation alone - it is worth coming to participate in Nomad defenses in 12 July !
I am looking forward to see you all there!! 🤓
