Nomad Graduation 🎓 ceremony 🎑—is a Big Event, the culmination of all the semester—of five weeks of the intence studies, preparation of the Final Course Work and a Public Defence—in fron of the Commission, that now includes at least one Independent Member, coming outside of the course teaching 😺—for the more objective, professional outlook 😜 of the presented course research 😁.

It is great joy and a huge pride for everyone, who participated! work is completed, certified 😅—good reason to celebrate 🎉🥂💐😁.

The scenario of Nomad Graduation dates back to our first 🥇 semester in may 2024, when the whole film 🎥 was produced on this event

This semester we had an important addition: a presentation by an Independent Commission Member 😉 Igor Ebanoidze, who I met through RASA, NomadUni Academic Partner, at our recent academic conference in Berlin, who was a special participant in all the defenses held in English, asked unexpected questions ⁉️ and endorsed the quality of the presented research with his signature on the Nomad Certificates.

Igor presented a short talk on the wisdom of the German immigrants from the Nazi Germany—that there was “no country to return to”, but “creating a new 🆕 world 🌍, that had to be built in that left space” 🌌 and the role of academic migrants—is to intellectual support to creating this new world”. Many Nomads 🤠 shared with me later, that they would truly appreciate, if Igor could come up with a full course for GNU, using his specialization in the heritage of Thomas Mann and Friedrich Nietzsche. 😊 Will work on it, promise! 😉

The other parts of scenario were hold on every University academic tradition:

• singing GAUDEAMUS
• signing Certificates
• awarding speeches by Teachers
• sharing course experience by Students 🤠
• collective Vagantes’ Oath
• and throwing up the hats 🥳—that are less formal than graduation mortardosrds 🎓, but more fun to choose and wear at the graduation 😉—as they can demonstrate each nomad’s individuality 😜

We definitely followed our own tradition of “nomad at a rest stop” table 😁, when everyone brings best foods they love to share—meat 🥓, vegetables 🍆, fruit 🍓, nuts 🥜, cakes 🍰, 🥝 drinks 🍻, wine 🍷 and Champagne 🥂🍾😋 of different kinds 🥂—so the joint Nomad Table was rich and diverse! 😄

Apart from tasty 🤤 table, we always have food for thought 🧐 and good deal of discussions at our graduation parties 🎉 that last almost till midnight—when we start planning for the next, Spring Semester, 2026!
