On May 16, defenses from all courses will be presented, but our special joy is the new courses of the Spring Semester 2026, for which several unique Final Course Projects have already been prepared. See for yourselves:
Defense topics for the course “Modern and Contemporary History of Sakartvelo: From the Treaty of Georgievsk to the Present Day”:
✍️ The Treaty of Georgievsk in the Context of Georgia’s Historical Dilemma: Between Security and Sovereignty
✍️ The Concept of State Independence and Its Consolidation in the Documents of the Georgian Republic at the Beginning and End of the 20th Century
✍️ Ilia Chavchavadze — His Role in the History of Georgia and the Contemporary Interpretation of His Ideas about Language, Homeland, and Faith
✍️ The Dissident Movement in Georgia as Part of the International Helsinki Movement: The Case of CIS Countries
✍️ Adjara within the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918–1921): State and Legal Status
Defense topics for the course “Contemporary Art: How to Understand and Create It” will be presented as an exhibition of graduates’ works created in multiple artistic techniques — painting, drawing, mirror image, appliqué, and collage. Here are the project titles:
🎨 “8+1” [A Story about the Author’s 8 Imaginary Friends]
🎨 “On the Duty to Remember — On the Desire to Forget” [An Attempt at a Visual Study of Family Myths in the Context of Migration, Family Transformation, and the Loss of Cultural Anchors]
🎨 “Memory Beyond Consciousness” [The project asks the viewer to consider that memory exists not only in consciousness, or in the head, but also in the body — and that it is important to learn how to feel this].
The most challenging topics are presented in the course on constitutionalism:

⁉️ Change of Power Through Competitive Elections: Factor Analysis Through Mathematical Modeling and Its Explanatory Power
🚀 Constitution-Making Beyond the State: Russian Anti-War Communities and Their Projects for the Russian Future
The first project has already passed its pre-defense and is now being revised.
We invite you to the pre-defense of the second project, dedicated to communities of Russian relocants and the visions of the future they are developing.
