Nomadic University gave me the opportunity to gain new knowledge in Tatiana Sukhareva’s course “Feminism” and to prepare my graduation project under her attentive guidance. Throughout the process, we discussed the direction of the research in detail, gathered material, and prepared the presentation. What was especially valuable for me was that a feminist perspective helps to look at social structures in a new way and better understand them in the context of patriarchal ideology. I would also like to highlight the warm atmosphere of the defense, the interesting discussion, and the attentive attitude toward my work.

The course Global Nomads: Careers and Education helped me take a fresh look at contemporary education, international careers, and the value of lifelong learning. Thanks to data, research, real-life cases, and in-depth discussions with Nina Yuryevna and the group, I was able to build a clear strategy for developing my global career. What was especially valuable was the combination of practical benefits, international networking, academic credits, and the opportunity to practice English in a diverse global environment.

The University became a space for me where I could find like-minded people, lively communication, and new points for development. In a busy schedule of work and everyday life, it is especially valuable to find oneself in an environment of people with shared interests, where there is an opportunity to discuss important topics and broaden one’s horizons. During the course, I was able to rethink my real-life experience, which became the basis for my course project on the right to a residence permit in Georgia and the problems of judicial protection. The discussion of my case with invited practicing specialists in Georgian legislation was especially useful.

I first got to know Nomadic University back when it was still a lecture hall, and I immediately appreciated its accessible format, lively discussions, and search for answers to complex questions. In Artem Samoilenko’s course “Everything Around Us,” I found myself among curious people and rediscovered my interest in physics, space, and the structure of the Universe. What is especially valuable is that the lecturers here become mentors: they help bring back a love of knowledge, unlock one’s potential, and make you feel like a researcher. For me, Nomadic University is a new educational community in Batumi — one that makes you want to keep learning.

Studying at the university helped me return to a topic I had been working on for more than a year but had stopped halfway through. The course project became a way for me to bring the idea to a result, while the criticism during the pre-defense helped me see the weak points and refine my argumentation. The requirement to be concise proved especially valuable: I had to compress a large amount of material into a clear and convincing presentation. To future students, I would recommend choosing real and pressing topics, not limiting themselves to analysis, and always proposing their own solutions.

This course in Traditional Chinese Medicine helped me look at an already familiar topic in a new way — more scientifically, with a focus on the lymphatic system and bodily processes. The parallel practice of qigong strengthened this experience and gave me exactly the sense of connection between movement, attention, and inner balance that I had been missing before. Now I understand even more clearly how important energy, the body, and conscious practice are. I am grateful to Evgenia and Oleg for this valuable experience.

The courses on immunity and acupuncture points became an important introduction for me to Chinese medicine and its unusual perspective on human potential. What was especially valuable was the atmosphere among people who continue to develop and move forward despite obstacles. Thanks to Evgenia, we discovered new knowledge about the body and points that help us better understand the organism, support health, and feel more confidence in our own strength. I am deeply grateful for the inspiration, hope, and this valuable experience.

Global Nomad University became a space where I was able to develop my academic and professional research interests. As part of the course Global Nomads: Education & Careers, I interviewed expat parents in Batumi and explored how their priorities in their children’s education are changing. What was especially valuable was that the work was carried out under the guidance of Nina Belyaeva and discussed within the group, helping me reflect more deeply on the results. This experience broadened my perspective and strengthened my interest in career planning and education for teenagers.

For me, Nomadic University is about values, freedom, and the victory of substance over formality. The course on civic communities turned out to be not an ordinary lecture, but a lively discussion of topics important to both the lecturer and the students. The consultations with Nina Yuryevna were especially valuable: through formulating the problem, choosing a methodology, and searching for conclusions, I truly felt for the first time what meaningful research work means. Here, research does not begin with the rule “this is how it should be done,” but with an honest answer to the question “why.”

Global Nomad University opened up for me in Batumi a community close in spirit, where people from different fields — researchers, lawyers, IT specialists, activists, and entrepreneurs — come together around one table. The course creates a warm and open space for discussing important topics related to migration, global nomads, and the future of education. It is especially valuable that the learning process combines real international experience, contemporary case studies, and lively discussion. I would recommend this course to expats, relocated professionals, migrants, refugees, and visiting researchers who have found themselves in Batumi.

GNU offers a truly different educational experience: here, one can work on one’s own academic research while also mastering serious methodology at the level of leading universities. What was especially valuable for me was the balance between quality and accessibility: if you invest effort in the work, the course can provide real knowledge and skills for academic and professional development. I am grateful to the lecturers and the entire GNU team for creating a modern and open space for global learning.

The course “Psychology of Conflict. Mediation” became a real discovery for me: I was introduced to the “jar of emotions” — a simple and universal tool for understanding the nature of conflict, my own state, and the position of another person. What was especially valuable was that the course turned out to be not only theoretical, but also very practical: in every session, we practiced skills, learned to speak through I-statements, do reframing, and see what lies behind a conflict. I am grateful to Ulyana for this important and transformative experience.

I chose this course because I see my future in the sociological and legal fields, and it became my first professional introduction to this area. The course helped me understand legal language, see law as a tool for analyzing reality, and notice blind spots that often remain unseen. The knowledge I gained also became an important foundation for preparing for university admission and developing critical thinking. This is a valuable and accessible experience for those who are currently in Batumi and want to learn to see the world more broadly.

It is wonderful that such a unique opportunity for development as studying at Global Nomad University has appeared for the emigrant community. In the age of information, you can find almost anything on the Internet. However, this can hardly compare with in-person classes, in good company, with lecturers whose knowledge goes far beyond the academic classroom...

I was lucky enough to be a student in one of the first semesters at Global Nomad University. Before studying at Nomadic University, I lacked an understanding of how society and the political system are structured, and how democracies, civil society, and protest movements function in practice. I gained all of this through the courses.
